It can feel like no one understands you because of what you’ve been through.
You might have difficulty trusting others and feel like you always have to watch your back.
As you try to figure out who you are, you might struggle with self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.
You may feel caught between cultures, unsure of which values to honor.
You’re exhausted and burnt out.
If you are struggling with any of these issues, you are not alone.
Together, we can work towards:
Finding out who you truly are
Gaining clarity and insight into complicated family dynamics & confusing situations
Understanding how your culture and world influence you
Soothing anxiety & perfectionism
Achieving inner harmony & balance
Meeting your needs: feeling heard, having choices in what happens around you, and feeling safe and secure
Feeling truly rested
Breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma
Moving from surviving to thriving
Meet Jenny Lau
I specialize in supporting individuals facing trauma, including complex trauma and dissociative disorders, adolescents, children over 7, people of color (AAPI & BIPOC), and healthcare professionals.
My integrative approach explores thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and systems, using experiential activities like art.
As a 2nd-generation Asian-American woman and former physician, I bring my lived and clinical experiences to my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, supervised by Tiffany Dang, LPC-S.
I have a decade of extensive clinical experience, both therapeutic & medical.
My aim is to create a safe space where you can feel deeply heard and be able to truly express yourself within an authentic therapeutic relationship.
A lotus arises from
grimy depths and
blooms with brilliant beauty.
Similarly, I believe that individuals can grow into their truest potential despite enduring adverse circumstances; I am devoted to creating the space needed for that process to occur. I strive to maintain the balance of validating what we have been through in the past and choosing to grow towards fulfillment and the future.
The lotus is a symbol of spiritual enlightenment and equanimity - the state of achieving inner equilibrium. If you are seeking this, it is a journey we can embark on together.
The lotus is also indicative of my Asian heritage, as it is a symbol commonly used in many Asian cultures. I help provide representation for my ethnicity within the mental health provider field and aspire to be an inclusive therapist.
